BHAA Rooted In Art: An Interactive Art Event
This Saturday in the Benton Harbor Arts District something new is taking over Art Hop this weekend… and we’re here for it.
The Benton Harbor Arts Association is switching things up with a Saturday Art Hop designed to be more interactive, more accessible, and way more fun. Instead of just viewing art, you’ll get to experience it.
🗓 Saturday, April 18
⏰ 12 PM – 4 PM
📍 Benton Harbor Arts District
We’re excited to host featured artist David Smykal of Smykman Primitives.
✨ David is the whimsical, self-taught creator known for playful folk-art paintings, quirky animals, reclaimed wood pieces, and originals packed with humor and personality. His work never takes itself too seriously—and neither should you.
🎭 For this event, he’s bringing a one-of-a-kind interactive piece where YOU can add a face to one of his original artworks. Yep. Become part of the art.
This city-wide crawl will feature 12+ stops and pop-up locations including galleries, shops, performances, community art projects, rare exhibits, and more. Expect dance at The Oak Room, hands-on art at Water Street Glassworks, special works by Richard Hunt at the Benton Harbor Public Library, and creative energy all across the district.
Come wander. Sip. Explore. Make something. Support local artists.
Benton Harbor knows how to do vibes.
