Ladder 3 was one of the first firefighter units to show up at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Sadly, it’s crew perished in the collapse of the North Tower. Their truck is now displayed in the NYC Memorial.

During our recent installation ceremony, it was my distinct honor and privilege to present the prestigious Veteran of the Year 2026 award to our esteemed comrade , Daniel Purdy.

This accolade is a testament to Daniel's unwavering dedication, exceptional service, and profound commitment to both our nation and our veteran community. His contributions to VFW Post 3928 and his embodiment of the values we hold dear make him an exemplary recipient of this recognition.

Today we commemorate the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. We honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, a day that forever changed the course of history. May we never forget their courage and heroism.
