💥NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCEMENT💥 Parallel 44 Presents THE PANIC HAYHO AFTERPARTIES, two nights of post-Panic revelry featuring WATKINS GLEN’s SOULSHINE DAYDREAM (Tribute to Dead/Allmans) (Night 1) & THE HASBENS (Night 2) on Friday & Saturday, July 10 & 11 at Volcanic Theatre in Bend, OR. Both shows will start at around 10pm and go until well after Midnight. All ages are welcome. Both bands will put on unique shows custom tailored to the event, including special guests. Bend — One of the most ferocious drummers on the planet is coming to town this Wednesday… and he also happens to be one of the finest soul singers in the country too!
Jamcruise 2026 Artist-at-Large Cliff Porter joins Watkins Glen at The Domino Room — and some of you may have caught him just a few weeks ago lighting up the ship, or on tour with Jelly Bread. As touring drummer and lead vocalist on roughly half the material, Cliff brings a rare dual-force presence. When he locks into a groove and leans into the mic from behind the kit, the whole room rises with him.
He’ll be joined by the world-class playing of High Sierra AAL Maxwell Friedman on keys, Mark Karwan on bass, and bandleader Brother Gabe Johnson on guitar and vocals — stretching deep into the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, The Band, and Little Feat catalog the band is known for, while interjecting a handful of choice ‘70s soul and funk classics that live right in that deep-pocket sweet spot.
And here’s the part most people don’t know yet:
The setlists for this run are some of the most dynamic Watkins Glen has ever assembled. They move. They breathe. They hit peaks and valleys. They dive from greasy funk into soaring improvisation and back into pocket-driven soul in ways that honestly feel unfair.
Because the vision has never been to simply “cover” this music. This is not a band of copycats.
The vision is to deliver these songs in ways their original creators dreamed of but never quite had the circumstances to achieve — and to channel the better angels in the room while they do it. To let the spirits play them. To tap that strange current that Deadheads and seekers recognize when the veil gets thin and something bigger takes over.
That’s when the magic shows up.
And when it does, it’s the kind most bands don’t even come close to touching.
Wednesday is the first night anyone outside rehearsal gets to experience this new chapter.
