One of my favorite projects lately was decorating for a 50th Wedding celebration. Art and Shirley had gotten married in Pearl Harbor so we thought it would be fun to decorate with a bit of a tropical vibe.

A month ago I had the fun adventure of going to Brazil to see an exchange student that had lived with us in 2020 and also meet her family. I also got to attend her college graduation party which was a lot of fun. While there I was the typical florist and I enjoyed seeing all the flowers and greenery. We also got to visit a little floral shop which was neat. One day we collected flowers and greens at their farm and then came home and did some flower pounding to create a long lasting floral piece of art. Helen plans to use it on her table. Flower pounding is a fun way to decorate curtains, tote bags, table runners and things like that. It would also be a very fun way to preserve some of your wedding flowers. This would work especially well if you have colorful flowers (and wouldn't work it you only have white). It is something that you could do on your own or something that I would be glad to do for you as part of your wedding package. Let me know if that is something you would like me to do for you!

I love it when Brides have been scouring the internet for inspiration photos. When we get together for a consultation I like to talk through the pictures and find out what they like about each picture and what they don't like so I can create something one of a kind just for them that incorporates the best parts of each inspiration picture. When I read that the 2024 trend for wedding flowers was going to be colorful, I got pretty excited. I love it when couple have fun adding color to their weddings through flowers. It is so bright and cheery. In my opinion it really makes it look like a celebration. Enjoy some pictures of colorful flowers from other years.

Packing up flowers this morning to go to an event when the temps were below zero was quite a chore. I am glad that the majority of weddings up here are when the weather is a bit warmer. Later on the boxes I used for transport were well enjoyed when my Grandsons came over.
