Mycah, I am going to miss you so much as you move onto the next chapter of your life. Thank you for your hard work and dedication these past two years. Because of you I was able to attend countless sporting events and be a better version of myself as a mom, wife, and person.

You are going to change the world! I am so thankful that GG got to be a small stepping stone on your way to the top!

Whew! We made it! School is out, summer is here!

Loyal customers... if you could give me a minute of your time...

This video is an excellent explanation of our current industry challenges....

What they failed to mention is, 80% of our flowers are imported. So in addition to high fuel prices, there are also tarrifs to contend with. Some flowers are coming in with over 20% tarrifs and some hardgoods (vases, foam) carry over 30% tarrifs.

Supply and demand. Prices always go up around holidays (and yes, prom is a holiday in the floral industry).

Logistically, landlocked Beloit (fairly close the geographical center of the US) is a jaunt from the ports. After flowers arrive at our wholesalers, either in Omaha or Kansas City, they still have a 3 hour trip to Beloit. Both of those factors increase costs.

So with all that...... grower, importer, buyer, wholesaler, to me, florist, we are all doing our very best to navigate and survive this economic climate. Please be kind.

Elevated operating costs have added a new challenge for Wichita florists, as making local deliveries has become more expensive and it costs more to receive flowers from overseas.

However, one local shop said they're trying to keep things affordable for their customers.
