There are some events that feel especially meaningful to be part of.

I first met this family years ago as their photographer, so being invited back — this time as their event planner — for Emma’s Bat Mitzvah was truly special.

The day began with the morning service (which I had the honor of photographing) and continued into an evening celebration at The Majestic Ballroom.

More than anything, I was grateful to be able to take the stress of the day off of my friend Samantha’s shoulders so she could simply be present and enjoy every moment.

It was a beautiful, full day in every sense and one Epic Celebrations is honored to be a part of.

Earth Day always feels like both a celebration and a reminder.

A celebration of this extraordinary planet—and a reminder of how intentionally we need to care for it.

The recent Artemis mission gave all of us a striking view of Earth from space: a fragile, glowing blue world suspended in darkness. A perspective that makes one thing very clear—we do not have a backup planet. And WHY would we want one? Take a look around. This planet is freakin' GORGEOUS!

At Epic Celebrations, we commit to prioritizing sustainable choices wherever possible—always opting for reusable, recyclable, and compostable materials—because beautiful celebrations should also be mindful ones.

This Earth Day, I’m especially grateful for the reminder from space and from here on the ground: every gathering is a chance to honor this beautiful world that makes it all possible.

I love when a creative vision comes together in a way that feels both meaningful and personal.

For an upcoming bat mitzvah I’m planning, the girl of honor, Emma, requested a custom “E” monogram keepsake that guests could sign. I spent considerable time contemplating how to fulfill this request until eventually this vision popped into my mind. I designed the image, and my brother-in-law Kevin, owner of .lush design & print service in Mount Vernon, brought it to life by printing it as a round sticker that we mounted onto a thin piece of wood. At the event, guests will sign it as a lasting memento for Emma!

This is one of my favorite parts of what I do—working with incredibly talented local vendors who help transform ideas into something tangible, personal, and unforgettable.

I'm grateful for collaborations like this that make each celebration I create truly one of a kind! Thanks, bro! 🎈

One of the most meaningful elements at a Celebration of Life is the memorial display.

Photographs tell part of the story.
But the objects someone loved tell the rest.

A signature hat.
Well-worn baseball cleats.
A stack of beloved cookbooks.
A favorite concert t-shirt.
A jersey from their #1 team.

These everyday items carry memories and the quiet details that made someone uniquely themselves.

When I create a memorial display, my goal is to thoughtfully arrange these pieces so guests can see the life being honored — their passions, their hobbies, the things they loved most.

Because a life well lived deserves more than a table of photos.

Winter tends to be the quieter season in the event world, which gives me the chance to work on some of the behind-the-scenes details of my business.

I spent last week updating my website and refining my service sheets — polishing the details so they better reflect the kind of thoughtful, detail-oriented work I bring to every event.

When you hire me, I step in as your steady, reliable presence — managing every detail on your behalf so you can be fully present.

I often joke that I become my client's temporary best friend, but the truth is, I’m a natural caretaker.

At a Celebration of Life, food isn’t just food.
It’s memory. It’s symbolism.

When we gathered to honor Janet, we did so on a day that carried profound meaning — her birthday and her wedding anniversary.

Before she passed, she left one simple request:
Vanilla cake with vanilla frosting — the same cake served at her wedding.

That detail mattered.

So we created a dessert bar filled with vanilla cupcakes and classic vanilla frosting, honoring her wish exactly as she asked.

But Janet was anything but vanilla! She was vibrant. Joyful. Bold.

She loved color and wore it daily. And as the proud mother of a gay son who died of AIDS, she was an unwavering supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.

The theme of her celebration became “She’s a Rainbow.”

To reflect her spirit and her advocacy, each cupcake was topped with rainbow sprinkles — a small detail that carried a beautiful, powerful message.

Because when we style a Celebration of Life, we aren’t just planning an event.
We are telling a story, and in every good story, it's the details that capture our attention. 🎈

There’s something so special about creating a birthday celebration that feels completely tailored to your child’s personality.

From custom puppy party hats and coordinating place settings to playful paw-print details and personalized name cards, every element of this “Puppy Pawty” was designed to make the birthday boy (and his guests!) feel extra celebrated.

The magic is always in the details — cohesive colors, themed table styling, and those little touches that make kids light up when they walk into the room.
