Keeping the Avenue spirit alive
When I was growing up here, Broad Avenue was alive and there were businesses like the Arcade, the bowling alley, Stringhill’s News and Comics. I would ride my skateboard or BMX bike from dawn till the sirens came on and told you to go home.
And of course we can’t forget how epic Jam ‘n Skate nights were.
These days I feel like the Avenue is coming back and we have a lot of amazing people here, but there’s still something missing.
We have no “third space” for the youth or for the people who don’t drink booze. This place that I created is to solve that problem. There will now be a stage for up and coming punk bands and under 21 acts.
*** FAT TUESDAYS @ CLUBBY’S ***
Starting June 23rd we will be featuring LIVE MUSIC on Tuesday nights as well as SPECIAL DISCOUNTS for people who work in the Restaurant/Bar industry.
The format will be a sort of “open mic” situation but all acts must be approved by management prior to going on stage. We will be allowing groups to play all afternoon until 6:30/7 PM when our MYSTERY HEADLINER will set up to take the stage.
> If you are an up and coming punk/hardcore group and you are interested in performing please message us through Messenger or Instagram. Include any links to shows on YouTube etc.
> If you are a band that’s already talked to us about performing and agreed to the terms please contact us immediately to get on the schedule if you aren’t already.
You can always stop by the shop during our normal hours of operation (Tuesday- Saturday 8am to 2pm) or call us at 724-243-3187 if you have any questions.
