We’re looking for Creative Food & Events Associate to join our team!

Exciting things are happening at The Grazing Room and we're looking for an incredible person to join our growing team!

We're currently hiring for a Creative Food & Events Associate—someone who loves food, creativity, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences.

This is much more than a typical food service position. Our newest team member will help create beautiful charcuterie boards, assist with catering and off-site events, support our retail storefront, help host workshops, and contribute ideas as we continue to grow. No two days are exactly alike, and that's one of the things we love most!

A few details:
Part-time position (approximately 10–15 hours/week to start)

Starting pay: $18/hour + shared tips (typical earnings of approximately $20–23/hour)

Opportunities for additional hours and growth as we head into our busy fall and holiday season

We're looking for someone who is:

Because this role supports our busiest times, applicants should have consistent availability on Friday mornings, most Saturdays, and weekday daytime shifts as we expand our retail storefront this fall.

When this client asked for an outdoor grazing table in the middle of July, our first instinct was definitely... 😅☀️

Outdoor grazing tables aren’t something we typically recommend during Maryland summers. Food safety will always come first, and we encourage indoor, climate-controlled setups whenever possible.

But this celebration of life was incredibly special. Her husband shared how much she loved entertaining, beautiful spreads, and bringing people together, and we wanted to help honor that vision.

To make it happen safely, we planned everything a little differently:
🧀 We built the graze on portable serving boards that fit together seamlessly.
🧊 The boards were placed over ice sheets to help keep everything cooler.
🪰 We added fly fans (just after filming!).
⛺ The entire display stayed under a shaded tent.
⛈️ And because July weather is unpredictable, the portable trays meant everything could be moved indoors quickly if a storm rolled through.

Would we still recommend an indoor setup whenever possible? Absolutely.

But with thoughtful planning and the right precautions, we were honored to create something beautiful that celebrated a life well lived. ❤️

The Grazing Room at Boards by Dana is looking for a PART-TIME Catering & Events Assistant to join our team ASAP!

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced small business environment and includes:

🧀 Charcuterie board & grazing table prep
🍓 Food styling, prep & packaging
🎉 Event setup & off-site catering
📋 Assisting with workshops, pop-ups & event coordination
🤍 Helping with customer communication, scheduling & small business collaborations

This position averages approximately 20 hours/week and REQUIRES regular Friday & Saturday availability, occasional Sundays, plus some daytime prep hours during the week.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Reliable & hardworking
• Organized & self-motivated
• Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting heavy items
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Creative with strong attention to detail
Food service, catering, hospitality, event, or administrative experience is a huge plus!

Compensation:
$18–$20/hour based on experience + tips
(Tips average an additional approximately $2–$3/hour.)
