The Rotary Club Of Forest VA proudly presents an inspirational formation of over 1,000 American flags on the grassy fields of Automated Conveyor Systems, located at 6 Millrace Drive, Lynchburg, VA. This solemn formation pays tribute to our veterans, active duty military, first responders, firefighters, police officers, EMTs, health care workers, and those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
This is an event not to be missed! Open 24/7 through September 23. Taps will sound each evening at 7 p.m.
There is also on onsite display of America's history celebrating 250 years of the American flag. 🇺🇸

🌿 Celebrate History, Culture & Connection at Poplar Forest! 🌿
Join Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest on September 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Roots and Reconnection Festival, a special day honoring, celebrating, and educating visitors about the lives, culture, and history of the enslaved Africans who lived and worked at the plantation, as well as the rich culture and experiences of African Americans today.
Enjoy music and dance performances, explore engaging exhibits and tours, savor delicious food from onsite vendors, and take part in meaningful conversations about our shared history and its connection to the present.

Every year, the Memorial marks the end of WWII with the Poppy Peace Garden. The poppies, which line the path to the Le Monument aux Morts sculpture, pay visual tribute to the men and women who have given their all to preserve our freedoms and safety. The poppies also honor the anniversary of 9/11 and the first responders who sacrificed their lives for others.

The Poppy Peace Garden will be on display from September 2-11. Regular admission fees apply. For more information, visit dday.org/events

The Bedford Professional Women celebrated America’s 250th at their membership event with a festive, all-American evening! 🇺🇸

Guests enjoyed a delicious country-style buffet dinner and a beautiful homemade cake by local cake maker Diane Wilson. 🎂

Join the Bedford Museum & Genealogical Library on Saturday, August 8, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. for an engaging Summer Speaker Series presentation. Karen Rowlett, Archivist and Deputy Clerk of the Bedford Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, will share insights into the historic records preserved by the Clerk’s Office and how they can help uncover your family's genealogy and local history.

The program will be held on the third floor of the Bedford Museum. Admission is $10 for adults, and children attend free.
