What an incredible day at Boots vs. Badges!

We loved cheering on our local heroes as they hit the field to raise money for two amazing causes.

Firefighters raised money for WVUMedicine Children’s
Police raised money for Just for Kids

After a fun and competitive baseball game, the Firefighters took the win! That means their charity will receive 75% of the proceeds, with the remaining 25% supporting the Police charity.

We’re so thankful for our community, our first responders, and everyone who came together to make a difference.

Tomorrow, August 23, 2025, at 3:00pm is gameday for Beckley PD and Beckley FD in their charity softball game at Epling Stadium.

All proceeds from the game will benefit both WVU Children’s Hospital and Just for Kids.

This game will not only benefit both charities, but everyone who attends will be eligible for door prizes, kids 12 & under will be eligible to play games for prizes in between each inning AND there will be a grand prize drawing at the end of the game for a $500 gift card from Academy Sports!

Door prizes include gift cards/certificates from:

• Chocolate Moose: 13 free mini golf gift cards
• Fujiyama: One $30 gift card
• El Bandido: One $30 gift card
• Donut Connection: Two free dozen dounuts gift cards
• Qudoba: Multiple free kids meal cards
• Olive Garden: One $25
• Cheddars: One $25
• Chili’s: Five $5 gift cards
• Chick-Fil-A: Cow will be on scene with prizes
• Kroger: Five $10 gift cards
• Marquee Cinema: Two free movie passes
• Leisure Lanes: 15 free bowling passes
• Golden Corral: Four adult buffets, multiple children buffets
• Academy Sports: Seven $100 gift cards, One $500 gift card
• Gift Basket from Pottery Place
• Little General: Four $50 gift cards
• 103 CIR: Two $25 Little General cards, Four tickets to WVU/Robert Morris Football Game (Aug. 30, 2025)

(Must be present to win any prizes)

We also want to thank: Bill Straub State Farm Insurance, City National Bank, Jan Care, Liberty Dental, and WV Orthotic and Prosthetic for their monetary donations that will benefit each charity.

Entrance to the game is $5 per adult, kids 12 & under are free, everyone admitted to the game will receive a raffle ticket and will be eligible to win a prize! All money collected at the gate will go to both charities.

What’s better than a night of PJ’s, snacks, and story time with your cuddliest friend? put on a Stuffed Animal Sleepover event that packed in all the fun for kids and their favorite stuffy. Once the evenings’ activities came to an end, the stuffed animals stayed the night, and the next morning, their owners came by for breakfast and to hear about all the fun. It was a night to remember and a little way to make our youngest guests’ days. 🧸
