When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” Pauhlo Cohelo.
8/8/2018 was the first of many weddings I have officiated. As a favor to a friend I pushed outside of my comfort zone and met with a couple who were desperate to hire a wedding officiant.Together we designed their custom ceremony, and held the rehearsal. The Ceremony went even better than imagined.. Be willilng to stretch to stretch out of ones comfort zone can lead one to an even more amazing experience. For me this has led to many speaking and teaching engagements, along with wedding officiating.

When you realize marriage is to share with your romantic partner.

Marriage...an outdated institution, or is there something we're missing entirely?

Happy Valentine's Day A beautiful interpertation of Love by Pauo Cohelo "I love you because all the loves in the world are like different rivers flowing into the same lake, where they meet and are transformed into a single love that becomes rain and blesses the earth.
‘I love you like a river that gives water to the thirsty and takes people where they want to go.
‘I love you like a river which understands that it must learn to flow differently over waterfalls and to rest in the shallows.
‘I love you because we are all born in the same place, at the same source, which keeps us provided with a constant supply of water. And so, when we feel weak, all we have to do is wait a little. The spring returns, the winter snows melt and fill us with new energy.
‘I receive your love and I give you mine.
“Not the love of a man for a woman, not the love of a father for a child, not the love of God for his creatures.
“But a love with no name and no explanation
‘Like a river that cannot explain why it follows a particular course, but simply flows onwards.
‘A love that asks for nothing and gives nothing in return; it is simply there. I will never be yours and you will never be mine; nevertheless, I can honestly say: I love you.’

What is a Soul Mate? Written by Dr Dr. Judith Orloff

"A soul mate is a fated romantic relationship with someone to whom you feel a special affinity. You fall in love with and support each other’s souls as well as their bodies. Support is the key concept here. You’re each other’s biggest fans and safe place to fall. The relationship is never denigrating, abusive, or based on narcissism or control. When you meet, something in you awakens, even rejoices. You can finally breathe. The wait is over–you’re home again.

A soul mate though isn’t necessarily some ideal person who will make your life perfect or cure your loneliness. Nor do you have to always like each other or agree. But he or she will help you evolve. You’ll learn from one another.

Here is a guide to help you hone your intuitive focus to make it possible for your soul mate to materialize."

A tip for adding guest interactivity within your wedding celebration. During the ceremony pass out a tumbled stone, rose quartz for example to each of your guests. During the ceremony the officiant invites the guests to hold the stone and silently thinking a positive wish/blessing for the bridalcouple. Later during the reception, they can, if they desire, share the wish/blessing with the couple and put the stone back in a container the bridal couple have in front of them.

The Handblessing Ceremony is one of my favorites.“These are the hands of your best friend. They are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief wracks your mind.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
May these hands always reach out with love, tenderness and respect. May these hands continue to build a loving relationship that lasts a lifetime.”
