It is weird to cook for just the two of us, but it is so nice to have him next to me picking the crab meat from the dungeness. Tonight's dinner: Greek inspired dish of lobster, scallops, and calamari in a tomato base with fried olives and capers. With all the time in the world, I made the caesar dressing from scratch. I even found a great rustic bread in the local grocery store. I'm always amazed at the diverse inventory of tiny town grocery stores.

I occasionally make something that fires up all the pleasurable parts of eating. This dish is full of soft, delicate textures and flavors. It is braised tofu with clams, a medley of mushrooms (beech, seafood, shiitakes yori&donko), bamboo, and baby bok choy.

Today is a good day when I get to cut fish for our sushi dinner tonight. From left to right: korean hamachi, rabbit fish, baby salmon, canary cod, black cod. The rest is bagged, labeled, and in the freezer for future broth and fried collar.

I feel like it has been weeks since I've made a simple dinner for the fam. Summer has just been so busy that we just eat on the go. Tonight, I made a soup that everyone loves, and it was Tom Kah with chicken. Mine is served with black rice. I did a slow simmer bone-in chicken red curry and steam-fried potstickers served with a black vinegar soy dipping sauce.
