Autumn weddings have a way of doing half the design work for you. When the landscape is already layered with greenery and warm tones, the right venue can turn simple décor into something extraordinary.

I always tell couples to start with the setting: do you want sweeping vineyard views, cozy garden intimacy, or a property where the trees do the talking? Venues like Pippin Hill, Goodstone Inn, and Stone Tower shine this time of year because the natural palette sets the tone—no heavy styling required.

BUT always remember to have a weather plan. Cold, rain, snow, extreme heat? October has seen it all.

Everyone loves a passed snack.

There’s something about a mini crab cake or tiny slider that just hits. Passed apps aren’t just a crowd-pleaser—they keep guests mingling, hold off the hangry, and set the tone for a thoughtful, well-paced evening.

Planning tip: aim for 4–6 different bites and enough quantity to last at least 45 minutes.

What I wish more couples knew at the very beginning? It’s not about doing everything.
The couples who enjoy this process the most—and end up with a wedding that feels like them—are the ones who prioritize. Not every trend needs to make it in. Not every moment needs a signature touch. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel to have a meaningful, elevated, beautiful day.
