Behind every blooming garden path, preserved document, and festive holiday display at Mount Gulian is a passionate team of volunteers. As a non-profit historic site, community support helps us preserve and share 300 years of Hudson Valley history.

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with a few special projects:

🎄 Holiday & Event Decorating: Help us transform the house and barn for special seasonal events, including decorating for Christmas!

📜 Archival & Collections Work: Assist behind the scenes with organizing, cataloging, and preserving historic documents and collection artifacts.

🌿 Heritage Gardening: Work outdoors alongside our grounds team to maintain our 19th-century-inspired garden beds and pathways.

Whether you have a few hours a week or want to jump in on seasonal projects, we would love to have you on the team!

Call us at (845) 831-8172 or email [email protected] to learn more!

Looking for an unforgettable, hands-on field trip this Fall? 🚌

We believe history should be experienced, not just read! Our Dutch Settlers & Trade with Native Americans program gives students the unique opportunity to step directly into the 17th-century Hudson Valley.

Through an interactive simulated trading post activity, students analyze primary sources, handle reproduction artifacts, and trade furs to understand the economic and cultural forces shaped by Native Americans and early Dutch traders like Gulian Verplanck.

Designed to align with NYS curriculum standards and sharpen critical thinking skills, it’s the perfect way to bring your history lessons to life.

Book your class trip today! Call 845-831-8172 or email [email protected] for more information.
