Celebrating women on International Women's Day.

Laila Ali was born December 30th, 1977 in Miami Beach Florida and grew up in Southern California with her parents and her older sister. Although she experienced some trouble in her youth, Ali went on to get a degree in business management for Santa Monica College.

While in school she worked as a manicurist and then owned a nail salon. Her inspiration for boxing didn’t come until later, when she watched a televised fight between Christy Martin and Deirdre Gogarty in 1996.

Not only is she the greatest female boxer of all time, Ali has also appeared on various television platforms for fitness and entertainment.

From 1999-2007 she defeated some of the most prominent fighters in women's boxing and attained the undefeated record of 24-0.

Laila Ali established herself as a Super Middleweight Champion by the International Boxing Association, the Women's International Boxing Association and the International Women's Boxing Federation.

Ali went out with a bang on February 3rd, 2007 in Johannesburg, South Africa when she knocked out Gwendolyn O'Neil in the first round, finishing her career as the top woman in boxing to date.
