Not every pregnancy looks the same.

She has spent 36 days in the hospital, with another 24 expected before meeting her baby. Diagnosed with placenta previa and placenta accreta, she faces serious pregnancy complications that can cause life threatening bleeding and require specialized care.

This is her second pregnancy, as she prepares to welcome her second child. Though bedridden she still wanted to do something to capture and commemorate her child. She asked if I would photograph her maternity session at the hospital because she couldn’t come to me. I was honored

Her employer has supported her in working remotely, giving her a sense of normalcy and connection to the career she has built.

Her friend pushed her between locations in a wheelchair, and she stood for the portraits. Between quiet moments and plenty of laughter, we made space to celebrate her and her growing family.

Back to work.

Last night’s session included a run, jump rope, kettlebell swings, and deadlifts. Every workout is another step toward the Saints 5K, but this journey is about building a healthier life that lasts long after the finish line.

The biggest reward is how this is already changing the way I show up. The healthier, happier, more focused, and more energized I become, the better I can serve every couple and client who trusts me to tell their story. I’m finding myself staying on top of my workload and edits with renewed vigor, and that’s exactly the kind of photographer and business owner I want to be. Just as importantly, taking care of my health means giving myself the best chance to be here for the people who matter most and to take care of my family for years to come.

Recovery day. 🚶🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️♨️

The Day 3 soreness hit me hard after taking so much time away from working out and running, so today was all about recovering the right way. Light biking, an easy walk, and a hot tub soak to get ready for what’s next.

Progress isn’t just made on the hard days. It’s made by showing up, recovering, and getting back after it tomorrow.

DAY 2/60.
No dramatic transformation yet😂😭😂. No finish line in sight.

Just another decision to show up.

The hardest part isn’t running. It’s keeping the promise you made to yourself when nobody is watching.
