Did you know that for much of my teen years, I hosted a live, call-in talk show called "Straight Talk for Teens?"

The show was mainly sponsored and produced by my mom-- Evangelist Johnson (now Pastor Pollie). The panel was made up of my sisters, youth group members and a rotaing circle of friends hanging out every Saturday on Christian radio.

If I recall correctly, we were on two different radio stations in Baton Rouge, a gospel station later owned by Bishop Dwight Pate and a contemporary Christian music station on Son Life Radio.

We had so much fun choosing topics, creating questions, interviewing special guests and trying to get kids to call in with a question or comment.

Nothing lit up the phone lines like relationship chatter!

Limiting the guest list is the most efficient way to respect the budget. As I like to show, you can have an amazing, meaningful, luxe event at a more reasonable cost, if you are willing to have fewer guests.

Kua is an amazing designer that my friend Eliza introduced me to in Washington DC. Who knew she was also a great wedding correspondent?!

What a feast for the eyes at this wedding in Ghana. Congratulations to the newlyweds! I'm so glad Bozoma gets her happy ending!

Today is my parent's 54th Wedding Anniversary and my Dad's birthday. We are blessed beyond measure.

I will take any excuse to relive images from their vow renewal at the Hilton Capitol Center. Although, near the end of the planning process I was about ready to fire my Dad as my client 🤣, the effort we put into the weekend was worth it.

There were multiple couples married 50 years or more who spoke words of wisdom during dinner. What a blessing.🙌🏾

Some insight from one of the best in the world. I love the focus on intention and intimacy. That's my area as well. Spending less but more per guest to really create an unforgettable experience.
