She is a southern girl, born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and an honor graduate of the historic Tuskegee University and Vanderbilt University Law School. She's practiced law as an officer

and attorney in the United States Air Force JAG Corps and continues to draw on skills honed as a military trial attorney.
