Eastern North Carolina’s history, like its rivers, runs deep. I never realized until this week that when Joe first sings “Old Man River” in the musical “Showboat,” he really was singing about the Pamlico — not the Mississippi. Maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but not really.

You can be a star on "THE LAST SHOWBOAT"! Auditions for "The Last Showboat" will be held at 1:30 pm, April 13, 2013 at the Thomas Ormond Amphitheater, which is located two miles west of Bath, NC on NC Highway 92. Call 252-754-2324 for more information.

Auditions for "The Last Showboat" will be held at 1:30 pm, April 13, 2013 at the Thomas Ormond Amphitheater, which is located two miles west of Bath, NC on NC Highway 92. Roles are available for 4 women and 7 men (aged 20 to 50). Some, but not all of these roles require singing and dancing. Actors should come prepared to recite a short monologue. Actors who sing should be prepared with music (a piano will not be available).
