This week, we honor a group of professionals whose work is as complex as it is compassionate - our exceptional forensic interviewers at the Children's Advocacy Center Serving Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties.
Forensic interviewers hold a rare and remarkable balance: they must be keen investigators, fierce advocates, and deeply empathetic listeners - all at once. On what may be the hardest day of a child’s life, they create a calm, safe space. They earn trust. They ask careful, intentional questions. And they listen with their full hearts.
But their work is more than comforting a child - it’s also building a foundation for justice.
Using nationally recognized, evidence-based protocols, our forensic interviewers gather legally sound testimony that helps law enforcement and child protection agencies move cases forward with clarity, sensitivity, and respect. These interviews are often a cornerstone in the investigation of child abuse, exploitation, or violent crime - and their impact is profound.
Across our three counties and beyond, our forensic interviewers are vital members of the multidisciplinary teams who respond to cases of crimes involving children. They sit at the intersection of care and investigation, where healing and justice begins.
