The 4th Annual Copper Cup Chili Cookoff was a tremendous success, raising an AMAZING $50,000 to benefit the restoration of our beloved Barnesville State Theater! 🎭

🎭🎬 A HISTORIC NIGHT FOR MONROE COUNTY! 🎬🎭

Tonight will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the best things to ever happen in Monroe County!

The Grand Reopening of The Monroe Theatre was celebrated this evening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by the debut of the first movie to be shown in the beautifully restored theater! What an incredible transformation and a proud moment for the entire community!

Three members of the Barnesville State Theater Company Board of Directors were honored to attend this special celebration and witness another historic theater brought back to life.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mick Schumacher and his entire team for their vision, dedication, and determination to make this dream a reality!

As fellow advocates for preserving historic theaters, we understand the passion, hard work, and commitment that go into a project of this magnitude.

Congratulations to everyone that supported the project and made it happen! We wish you tremendous success in the years ahead. May the Original Monroe Theatre once again become a treasured gathering place where generations of families and friends create lasting memories.

❤️🎭 And one day, our time will come, too!

We look forward with great anticipation to the day when we will cut the ribbon and celebrate the Grand Reopening of the Barnesville State Theater in our own beautifully restored and completely renovated historic building!

🎃 A BIG THANK YOU TO JNR LANDSCAPING & LAWN CARE! 🎬🍿

The Barnesville State Theater Company would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to JNR Landscaping & Lawn Care for generously providing the truck and trailer that allowed our theater to be represented in this year’s Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Parade!

A very special thank you to owners Rick and Jae Sykes, who not only donated the use of their truck, trailer and time but also generously provided the decorations that helped bring our movie-themed float to life! 🎥⭐

We are incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful businesses and individuals in our community who willingly give their time, resources, and talents to support the restoration and future of our historic State Theater.

It’s community partnerships like these that make Barnesville such a special place! ❤️

BSTC is so blessed that so many local businesses and members of the community are so supportive! And even those from out of town know a great project when they hear about it! Hope to see everyone at the Chili Cookoff this weekend Oct 10!!!

The next meeting of the Barnesville State Theater Company will be held Tuesday, October 6th at 5:30 pm at the theater building at 137 W Main St. The meeting is open to the public and is a great opportunity to volunteer to be a part of a great project! Please join us!
