The ELR Finale will be on September 19th and 20th instead of the 12th and 13th.
The Light gun match will be a double elimination tournament with seeded brackets based off of your 2026 Spearpoint Ranking. This means you must shoot at least one Light Gun match at Spearpoint to be eligible for the tournament.
The Heavy match will be a points match like we usually do using your top three Spearpoint scores along with your Finale score.

Bill Poor tomahawks to the season champions.

Little tougher match today. Breezy and warm as the morning went on. We had some pretty stellar performances in the wind from rookie and junior competitor, Cora Gilbert, impacting all targets including an impact on 2911, rookie Justin Shull cleaning 1860, and overall winner Otis White with multiple impacts on most all targets.
Congratulations to Otis White on 1st, Danny Gilbert on 2nd, and Justin Shull on third!
5 rookies were on hand for the match. Congratulations to Justin Shull on 1st, Cora Gilbert on 2nd, and Ryan Drafall on 3rd!

Scores are up on the ELR Alliance website page.

The next match will be June 20 and 21. Sign up will start May 20 on ELR Alliance.

Heck of a fun match today. We had a smaller turnout for May due to graduations, weddings, and other matches overlapping so it provided us the latitude to try out something new. The Saturday match was a head-to-head, three shooter brackets, seeded, double elimination tournament . It worked fantastic! This is most definitely the way to determine the best shooters of the day in a specific group of shooters. It was fun, exciting, and everyone was engaged in what was going on throughout the match. Even the first shooters eliminated shot 24 rounds before they were out of the running. The highest round count expended was 48 rounds. This is really a cool format and provides those shooters who think they should be ranked higher, an avenue to prove it.
If you ever have the chance to try one of these out, you should do so.
Congratulations to Danny Gilbert on 1st, Billy Connor on 2nd, and Randy Broxterman on 3rd! Excellent shooting guys!

Thanks to Jake at Schur Firearm Sales LLC for the engraving on the tomahawk from Halfbreed Blades, knives from Esee, and the coins!

Thanks all for coming out and shooting with us!

Spearpoint Light gun tournament, May 16, 2026 and Light Gun match May 17, 2026.

Here is your chance to put up! If you think the 2025 US ELR rankings are incorrect, now is your chance to prove it in a head to head, double elimination tournament. You have to lose twice to be eliminated so even if you go up against the best shooter first and lose, you still have a chance to work your way back to the top if you really are that good.
This is the most accurate way to really see who the top shooters are, by having them shoot against each other at the same time and in the same conditions.
The May ELR matches at Spearpoint will be a Light Gun only event. Saturday we will be running the double elimination, seeded, head to head tournament and Sunday will be a regular match for points for ranking.
The Saturday tournament is unique as it tests shooters against each other in brackets in the exact same match conditions. This eliminates situations such as shooter 1 getting to shoot in ideal conditions at 8 am in the morning being scored against shooter 30 who is shooting at 1 pm in the afternoon in high winds, heavy mirage, blowing dust and high heat.
With this type of competition, higher round counts come into play. Two rounds of 12 shots each will be the minimum for each shooter. The winner will be shooting 5 and possibly up to 7 brackets to get to first place. I’ve adapted the course of fire to deal with this and keep it to a 24 round minimum and 74 round maximum (most likely 54 round) tournament. In order to do this, the tournament will be limited to 27 shooters for this inaugural event. Cool trophies (Halfbreed Blades Rescue Axe, ESEE Knives) and coins, all engraved by Schur Firearm Sales LLC, will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the tournament. Seeding will be determined by the 2025 US ELR Light gun ranking. If a shooter does not have a ranking in this system, no problem, a seed will be assigned to them by the MD.
Sunday's match will be for points and medals like we usually do and more shooting slots will be available. One cold bore target and six regular targets. This will be a 31 round match for ranking points.
Total round count for the two matches will be 105 rounds maximum.
Sign up starts on April 30 at 7 pm CST at ELR Alliance.
Come on out for a really fun time and see where you really rank!

Had another great ELR match at Spearpoint for April! The weather threw us a curve but we adapted and moved on. Ended up running the Heavy match on Saturday and opened the Tac match up to any Light gun that wanted to compete and canceled the regular Light match on Sunday due to the forecasted apocalypse of thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes.
The Heavy match was a close one with the top three all having over 40,000 points with two, Ryan Cheney and Jaclyn Bryan each impacting twice at 2 miles.
Congratulations to Shane Bryan on 1st, Ryan Cheney on 2nd, and Jaclyn Bryan on 3rd!
The Light Gun Tac match also ran well. This tournament style Tac match was interesting to step back and watch. Everyone was engaged in what was going on at the line. Maybe it was because I had them so confused as to what was happening that they had to watch to figure out what was going on, but they were paying attention and focused on what was in front of them. They were cheering on their favored shooter and watching the results (via the light system) of their opponents. It was very cool to watch and even more so for the shooters that were competing.
Everyone was supporting their favorite guy or gal, especially when husband and wife team, Alex and Lindi, had to shoot against each other. The tournament had a more vibrant energy as the results were immediate. You knew whether you won or lost before you left the line rather than making your impacts then waiting until the end of the day to see how you did against others who were shooting in better or worse conditions. The tournament system pretty well takes care of the ranking system also since win/loss records are what is tracked rather than points or percentages.
Congratulations to the Tac Match winners, Chase Stroud in 1st, Billy Connor in 2nd, and Ryan Cheney in 3rd!
Next match will be May 16 and 17 and will be a Light gun only match. Saturday will be another tournament style match (double elimination) and Sunday will be a regular points race match.
Sign up is through the ELR Alliance website and opens this Thursday evening, April 30.
Get signed up and come have some ELR fun!
