How do you sum up Baltimore City Recreation and Parks in one video?
Honestly…not an easy ask.
This year, for the first time in our history, Rec & Parks was named a finalist for the NRPA Gold Medal Award, which recognizes park and recreation agencies that demonstrate excellence in serving their communities through innovative programming, strong management, and thoughtful investment in their parks and facilities.
As part of the final round, we had to look back at the last three years and figure out how to tell the story of Rec & Parks: what we’ve accomplished, where we’ve invested, and where we’re headed—all in one video.
But we didn’t want to just list accomplishments.
We wanted to capture what makes Rec & Parks unique: our parks and rec centers, our neighborhoods, our programs, our people, our history and culture, and all the ways Recreation and Parks is part of everyday life in Baltimore.
So, we tried to fit a whole lot of Rec & Parks into a few minutes. Because the best way to tell our story is to share it with the people who are part of it every day.
