Building Trust with Your Customers and Clients

It all begins with trust.
That is the mantra of the Better Business Bureau, and it should be the philosophy of every business owner. If your customers and clients don't trust you, how can you expect them to do business with you?
But how do you build that trust?
How do you maintain that trust?
How to make sure prospects know that you are a trustworthy company?
These are some of the topics we'll cover on January 23rd with our fireside chat with Angie Barnett, President/CEO of the BBB of Greater MD.

Hello Baltimore Entrepreneurs,
I hope you all are well! I’m reaching out to share something that might be of interest that is just hitting the market today! It’s called Maryland Business Networking (MBN) and is an innovative approach to networking. The organization’s kick-off event is set for May 17th, and I’d love it if you could join me there. You can check out all the details about MBN and the event at www.MarylandBusinessNetworking.com, as well as EventBrite for information and ticket sales. (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/maryland-business-networking-p…)
MBN came together through a collaboration of like-minded business owners and professionals with over 70 years of experience. This group was energized by the opportunity to help others like themselves achieve growth in all aspects of their lives, as well as give back to our communities. MBN aims to harness the spirit of innovation, and to excite and provoke new business while being entertained, challenged, fed, educated, and coached. The group was founded on the premise that a mutual exchange of resources strengthens what we can do to help each other versus one standing alone. Members will gain access to just about everything needed to achieve business, community and personal goals. It goes without saying that we are excited to launch!
If you are interested in attending the kick-off, have questions, or want to see if there is any way you can get involved, please reach out ASAP to me. And on May 17, come ready to experience a production like no other in our first event “A Latin and American Fusion.” Use this 20% off code for each ticket if you want to attend. We look forward to seeing you!
Also within the website is a guide to membership and sponsorship, as well as an overview that lays out exactly what Maryland Business Networking is and what we represent. Look forward to hearing from you soon and hopefully seeing you at our premiere event!
Have a great day

I'm reaching out on behalf of Startup Maryland as a champion of the angel community in an effort to build a stronger angel investor community. We hope to jumpstart this with our newest program, the upcoming Startup Angels Workshop happening in Annapolis this August 18-19. I’d like to encourage you to join us at the event with a personal discount code. A bit about the workshop:
The Startup Angels Workshop is being hosted by Startup Maryland and Startup Angels. Developed under the guidance of Brad Feld and other experienced investors, the workshop provides the latest strategies, tools and tactics on startup investing.
What attendees can expect to gain:
Perspectives on landscape: Learn why now is a great time to invest in emerging startups and how this strategy fits into your portfolio.
Best practices: An understanding of successful approaches when investing in early-stage startups.
Connection and community: meet other aspiring or experienced Maryland angel investors.
We've had some great press on this as well if you're interested in taking a look:

http://thedailyrecord.com/…/startup-maryland-looking-to-cu…/
http://www.capitalgazette.com/…/ph-ac-cn-investor-workshop-…
As part of the workshop we will be hearing pitches from SISU Global Health (Rise of the Rest Winner) Loople(Accelerate Baltimore Winner), Kitchology(Startup Maryland fan favorite), SickWeather(Pitch Across Maryland Finalist), GD Bio Science, and Gainhub. These startups have all been funded or discovered via the STRT1UP Roadshow and the Pitch Across Marylandcompetition. They portray an excellent cross section of real deal flow in Maryland.
Please contact ([email protected]) or Mike Binko ([email protected], 240-499-3830) if you have any questions. You can learn more and register at Startup Angels Workshop Annapolis, and use the code CHAMPION at registration for $125 off the ticket price.

If you’ve ever considered startup investing, the workshop is your chance to hear best practices and join a growing network of angel investors

Good afternoon, all-

The next installment of Community Design Lab is right around the corner, and will take place on Thursday, November 14, from 5:30 pm to 9pm at Union Mill.

If you're unfamiliar, Community Design Lab is a collaborative problem-solving workshop for innovative social change. Community Design Lab engages community leaders and social entrepreneurs representing a diverse range of neighborhoods, disciplines, interests and pursuits, and workshops draw on design thinking methods to inspire creative and meaningful exchange.

Here's an overview of the questions and the gracious table hosts that you will have a chance to work with during the evening:
Kelly Keenan Trumpbour | See Jane Invest : How might we identify and grow Baltimore's most promising social ventures with the support of an investment and mentorship network?
Ali Smith | Holistic Life Foundation : How might we improve parent engagement in community-based yoga and mindfulness programs for youth?
Greg Cantori | Maryland Nonprofits : How might a non-profit network support its members to achieve greater impact collectively than they would through individual efforts alone?
Shea Frederick | BaltimoreVacants.org : How might we build awareness and activism around vacant homes and lots through an open data website among community members with little internet access?
Jordan Watts | International Book Bank : How might we create interactice service-learning opportunities for students in Baltimore to send books and educational materials to people in developing countries?
If you'd like to attend, please RSVP here. A special thanks to Michelle Geiss and Gayle Carney for organizing another awesome Community Design Lab.

Best,

RDF Rodney Foxworth
