Getting my first warehouse wasn’t about looking successful.

It was about the business demanding more space.

By fall 2020, I had outgrown my house, my garage, and multiple storage units. I had inventory everywhere, trucks that needed somewhere to park and clients booking faster than I could keep up.

At that point, B.Luxe was consistently bringing in $25,000–$35,000 months, and I knew the next level required real infrastructure.

But something else was shifting too.

I was no longer just getting requests for props, backdrops, and themed pieces.

More wedding and corporate clients were reaching out for furniture, bars, tables, and elevated rentals.

That’s when I started making inventory decisions based on demand not just what I liked.

The warehouse gave me space. But strategy gave me direction.

And once I had both, B.Luxe started becoming something much bigger than I originally imagined.

One auction completely changed the capacity of my business.

A local event rental company was going out of business and auctioning off its equipment. I ended up purchasing a 24-foot box truck and a 16-foot box truck for only $13,000 total.

At the time, I was still operating with the 20-year-old truck I told y’all about. Suddenly, I had three trucks that could be on the road at the same time.

That meant more deliveries. More events in one weekend.
More clients we could serve.

And more revenue we no longer had to turn away because of limited transportation.

My first year in business, B.Luxe made around $12,000.

Less than two years later, the business was generating nearly 30 times that amount.

Those trucks did not create the demand but they gave me the capacity to meet it.

And before long, my house, garage, and storage units could no longer hold everything I was buying.

The most overrated thing in the event industry isn’t inventory. It’s the obsession with looking successful without building a successful business.

Some of the biggest contracts I’ve ever landed came from relationships, referrals and reputation — not Instagram.

Last week I saw Jay-Z in concert two nights in a row.

Most people left talking about the music.

I left thinking about the business.

Watching someone evolve from an artist into a global brand reminded me that success rarely comes from staying in one lane.

The same is true for entrepreneurs.

At some point, you have to stop thinking about your next booking and start thinking about the business you’re building.

Your brand.
Your systems.
Your reputation.
Your relationships.
Your long-term vision.

That’s the difference between owning a job and building an asset. It’s a mindset shift that completely changed the trajectory of my business.

If you’re ready to stop operating day to day and start building with intention, comment COACHING and I’ll send you the details. 💕

I had just ordered two containers full of furniture when the entire event industry shut down.

At that time, none of us knew when the world would reopen. I remember thinking I had invested all of this money at the absolute worst possible time.

Before COVID, I was making around $3,000–$4,000 a month in the business.

Then events started returning, and everything changed.

We went from a few thousand dollars a month to bringing in $25,000–$30,000 a month.

In June 2020, I sat down after an unusually busy few days and realized I had booked approximately $6,500 in just three days.

That was the moment I knew this business was much bigger than I had ever imaginedand that it could become my exit plan.

By August 2020, I quit my job and became a full-time entrepreneur.

But the next opportunity is what really helped propel B.Luxe to another level.

I’ll never forget the day I booked my first $3,000 event.

It was January 2020 and I was sitting at my cubicle when a client reached out about her baby shower. She wanted backdrops, furniture, props.. and yes, I was even doing balloons back then. 😂

Before that, I had been making a few hundred dollars here and there.

So when she told me her budget, I literally dropped to my knees.

At the time, I was only bringing home about $5,000 a month from my job after taxes. Realizing I could make more than half of that from ONE event completely changed how I saw my business.

That booking gave me permission to think bigger.

And just when things started taking off… the entire world shut down.

Your delivery fee should cover more than gas.

It should account for the truck, labor, load time, unload time, drive time, the return trip, wear and tear, and the fact that delivery is part of your business operation — not a favor.

Too many rental businesses are charging random delivery fees and wondering why the event looked profitable but didn’t actually make money.

That’s why I created the Delivery Fee Calculator.

It helps you stop guessing and start charging delivery fees with strategy.

Because your delivery fee should protect your profit, not eat into it.

The event industry is projected to reach $2.5 TRILLION by 2035.

So if the money is there…
Why are so many event professionals struggling to make their first $1,000?

The problem usually isn’t the industry.

It’s positioning. It’s pricing. It’s packaging.
It’s not knowing how to communicate your value to the people who are willing to pay for it.

I started my business at my dining room table with no investors, no trust fund, and no roadmap.

Today, I’ve built a seven-figure event rental company, imported inventory from overseas, serviced over 1,000 events, and helped entrepreneurs avoid the costly mistakes I made along the way.

The opportunity is real.

The question is: are you positioned to take advantage of it?
