Baltimore County Animal Services (BCAS) in Baldwin is overflowing with dogs, and they need our help NOW! This is their 4th final plea in less than 24 hours, which is unprecedented.

Coda:
Meet Coda! This oh so handsome boy has unfortunately found himself at the shelter twice and now we are seeking urgent rescue placement for him! Coda was adopted towards the end of 2024 and recently returned due to behaviors his adopters were not comfortable with. They described Coda as a good and loving boy but noted he is pretty reactive to other dogs on walks. He reportedly loves to cuddle, napping and playing with toys. His energy level was described as calm and when in a yard he would just wonder curiously around. We do not have notes on if he previously lived with kids. The adopters noted he is reactive to cats, dogs, and small animals. Coda will need some general training on his leash reactivity towards other animals, a consistent routine will benefit him greatly! It was reported that Coda and another dog may have gotten into a brief altercation as well but no further details were provided. Due to this history it is recommended he go to a home with no other animals. While at the shelter Coda has walked by other dogs in their kennels and doesn’t show much interest in them. He is friendly when passing strangers and will melt into pets. He is very stressed here in the kennel and to prevent further deterioration we are hoping for rescue placement as soon as possible.

Maggie:
Meet Maddie, also known as Maggie! We are seeking urgent rescue placement or adoption for Maggie!

Due to no fault of her own, Maddie (intake #8677) was surrendered on December 16th to the shelter along with 2 doggie siblings. This happy, energetic gal is hoping for her happily forever after! She is a sweet, 1 year old, 66 lb, brown pit bull terrier mix. Maddie can’t wait to leave her kennel to go on walkies or to play in the yard. She is strong on leash and walks best when harnessed. She bounces around the yards and checks in frequently for attention and some yummy treats. She knows how to “sit” and is motivated to learn more tricks. She also appears to be housebroken. Maddie does have some intermittent leash biting and reacitvity to dogs that she will need some training on. The shelter is very crowded and Maddie would love to leave as soon as possible. Please bring your family to meet this friendly gal and as well as any resident dogs to ensure a perfect match. She is looking for an active family who is ready to start a new adventure together!
