In a new partnership with , The Gambler is a tale of debauchery, inspired by a few chapters from Dostoevsky’s novel of the same name, our story follows two women, Doris and Gertie, who at the end of their lives spiral into a world of gambling and sin.

Performer-creators Rawya El Chab [] and Kelly Lamanna [] dance the line between absurdity and sincerity, posing questions about agency, addiction, and society’s relationship with the elderly. In a moment when the weight of mortality feels particularly heavy, these two artists attempt to make sense of being alive.

Oropendola

Oropendola is the project of Brooklyn-based singer, composer, and keyboardist Joanna Schubert, whose music blends theatrical chamber pop, playful dissonance, and lyrical storytelling. Her songs move between the whimsical and the intimate, drawing from keys-based art-pop and indie-folk traditions.

Freddy & Sally

Freddy and Sally is the chamber–folk duo of composer/instrumentalists Eli Greenhoe and Ledah Finck. Based in a shared reverence for the Appalachian and Irish folk music they grew up steeped in, the duo works collaboratively to layer and weave together intricate arrangements of original and traditional songs with a preference towards unconventional sounds and structures.

Georgia Beattybeatty

Georgia Beatty is a musician and folk artist focused on cycle, lineage and healing through cultural transmission. Their work has two taproots growing at equally feverish rates in the paradoxically woven worlds of songwriting and traditional music. They play fiddle, cello and sing. Georgia’s study as a fiddler is in Norwegian music.

Georgia lives & works in their hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.

ABOUT DJ DIASPORA

DJ DIASPORA sarted buying records in her hometown Chicago, inspired by the underground house parties in the 90s. While living in several cities along the US east coast and in London, she drew further inspiration from the underground dance music scenes of each locale. This culminated in her eclectic range of house music, broken beat, world beat, disco, techno, jungle, and anything on vinyl that moves her.

ABOUT THE NIGHT

Wazumbians - an Afro-fusion band from Accra, Ghana - make their Baltimore debut at Le Mondo. With sounds echoing the legendary pioneering Afro-rock group Osibisa, as well as Salief Keita, Fela Kuti, and Lucky Dube, Wazumbians promise catchy tunes and rhythmic grooves steeped in African traditions.

medukha uses ethnographic recordings, tokens of our homelands, the languages we've grown up with, and the folk music conventions we've been exposed to as an emotive vehicle for interrogating the immigrant experience.

ＫｕｔａｙＳｅｚｇｉｎｅｌ

Sezginel’s music explores the intertwined nature of tradition and innovation. Rooted in the rich heritage of Anatolian folk music and inspired by psychedelic rock, dark ambient and krautrock, he creates cosmic soundscapes layered with microtonal cultural motifs and odd time signatures. With neo-ethnic instruments like the çağlama and the electric cümbüş as his narrators, he creates stories of imaginative realms with memories of the past. His work is always evolving and reshaping itself through the spontaneity and energy of live performances.

A contemporary music group that unites Iranian musicians with a mission to deconstruct and reconstruct the rich traditions of Iranian classical music, transforming them into new forms through contemporary composition techniques.
