One wedding-day tip you’ll be glad you planned ahead for ✨

Before the wedding day, put together a small “details box” for your photographer with the pieces you’d love captured — your invitation suite, rings, vow books, ribbon, perfume, jewelry, wax seals, or any other little details that helped tell the story of your day.

Having everything together means your photographer can begin capturing those beautiful flat-lay photos without having to track down each piece while you’re getting ready.

And don’t forget to include an extra invitation suite. 🤍

It may feel like such a small part of the planning process now, but years from today, these photographs preserve all of the thoughtful details you spent months choosing.

A first look gives you something that can be surprisingly hard to find on your wedding day—a few quiet minutes together.

Inside the foyer at Vista Del Lago Estate, the grand staircase creates an intimate setting for that moment. One walks down the stairs, the other waits below, and for just a little while, everything else happening outside seems to disappear.

Fall wedding tip: plan your reception around the sunset, not the clock. 🌅

(long post but worth the read for tips!)
The days are getting shorter, and that means one of our favorite parts of fall weddings is officially back: golden-hour receptions. ✨

When planning an outdoor reception, think about what you want your evening to feel like as the sun goes down. An earlier dinner can give you that warm golden light over the tables, while candles, string lights and soft reception lighting carry the celebration beautifully into the evening.

A few things to consider when planning your setup:
• Position your reception where you can take advantage of the sunset
• Plan portraits and cocktail hour with golden hour in mind
• Add candles and ambient lighting before it gets dark
• Keep the dance floor close to the action so guests naturally move from dinner to dancing

And maybe our favorite tip? Let the season work for you. 🍂 There’s something pretty magical about watching the sun set while everyone you love is gathered around the table.
