Attention Haines and Baker Valley Rural Customers:

Baker Sanitary is pleased to announce that we will be offering optional on-route recycling to Haines and certain Baker Valley rural customers starting in June 2026. All customers currently with a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday garbage pickup day are eligible for this new service. If you are a Monday or Tuesday pickup day and are interested, please let us know and we may be able to add your area in the future with enough interest. Customers electing to participate in the service will receive a blue 95-gallon recycling cart that will be picked-up every-other-week on the same day as garbage pickup for a cost of $7 per month charge to their garbage service bill.

Please see the Curbside Recycling Guide at the link below for items that can be included in your commingled recycling cart. Note that we will continue to offer depot recycling in Baker City for these items as well as an expanded list of items not included in the curbside recycling guide. Depot only items will include glass bottles & jars, motor oil, electronics, batteries, shredded paper, aluminum foil & trays, stretchy plastic & bags, and large metal items. Please do not put the depot only items in your commingled cart for pickup.

Please call our office at (541) 523-2626 if you have any questions or if you would like to add this service or make changes to your account.

Starting next week (April 13-17th) we will begin recycling cart pickups on the same day as your normal garbage pickup day. They will then be picked up every-other-week after. Please place your cart out on the curb as normal next to your garbage container, while leaving ~2 ft of space between carts if possible.

If there are any questions regarding pickup days, please see the route calendar on our website or linked below. You can also call our office at 541-523-2626. Thank you!
