I try to be pretty aware of the environmental impact my business has on the planet. I recycle through Ridwell, Bainbridge Disposal, and TerraCycle. I've never offered cups, to-go containers, or plates made of plastic for an event - all items are compostable. One step I take is to recycle the nitrile gloves that are a constant by-product of food prep - in the kitchen and off-site. After just over a year of recycling, I finally had a full box to take to UPS - 97 lbs of gloves... Which is approximately over FOURTEEN THOUSAND gloves that did not end up in the landfill and will be recycled through TerraCycle.

What a festive & chaotic weekend! Four events in five days, finishing with a beautiful wedding that featured a Chicken Cassoulet made with Toulouse Sausage from Rain Shadow Meats and Fir Pepper from Abies Lagrimus. Beautiful tables and settings from Gather Event Rental. The kicker was the morning of the wedding started off with an island-wide power outage... But, a few quick calls to businesses in the area resulted in full-house/barn generators and porta-potties. Not exactly what you want to be dealing with the morning of your event, but the end result was absolutely fabulous - and the sun even came out for the day!

Looking to add a little something special to your holiday table? Or seeking out a special gift from the island? Membrillo! Organic quince paste made with organic sugar and organic lemon juice. That's it! Processed in a licensed commercial kitchen. Each container (formally for honeycomb) is 4.25" x 4.25" x ~1". There is a little variation by weight, but each portion weighs between 11-14 oz.
