Wednesday, 9/24 Shane Parish / returns to Commune for a solo set at 7:30pm. Parish is a guitarist, composer, improviser and interpreter. He is the leader of the avant-rock band Ahleuchatistas, a member of the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, and a renowned acoustic soloist.

His last set blew us away, don’t miss it!

This Saturday, we’re enjoying Pasta by the Sea, an entirely gluten free pasta and dessert menu with flavors from Tunisia and Southern Italy by Chef Erinleigh Kinyanjui of .

Erinleigh is a pastry chef, who also specializes in Italian, Mediterranean, and North African food - specifically hand made pasta. She has spent the last 12 years learning the science of gluten free, allergy-friendly, and vegan baking and cooking – all while still staying true to culture and tradition. She believes that anyone who suffers from intolerances, allergies, or dietary restrictions can still eat the best food in town.

We’ll be playing a sweet mix of Italian film soundtracks, disco and soft rock from the 70s and 80s to accompany your meal.

Many of tables are booked, but there are some spots at 5:30 and 9:30. We also take walk ins at the bar. 🍝

Madoka Oshima is a Tokyo-born pianist, singer, and composer who blends jazz, folk, and soul into intimate, emotionally rich songs. Her debut album, Tide, features original compositions and lyrics drawn from personal reflections, literature and dreams.

Madoka / will sing and play keys with:

Justin Chesarek / on drums

Francisco Lora / on bass

Tuesday, 9/16, in partnership with , we’re excited to have Austyn Wohlers / speak with A.V. Tapia / .meadow about her novel Hothouse Bloom.

Hothouse Bloom has been called “the rare kind of debut that resets the bar for the field at large” by Blake Butler and “strikingly original” by Mesha Maren in The New York Times. ✨

Wholers was born in Atlanta in 1996 and her fiction, poetry, translation, and criticism have appeared in The Baffler, Guernica, The Massachusetts Review, and elsewhere. In Baltimore, she ran the Near Future reading series. She is also a musician, with solo releases on (a label near and dear to us) and with the band .flower

No cover. The conversation starts at 7pm, with a DJ set by afterwards. We’ll have our full dinner and drink menu available.

Wednesday, 9/24 we have the Leah Calvert Trio LIVE from 7:30 - 9:30p. Leah Calvert is a vocalist, fiddler, and songwriter based in Atlanta. With a sound that weaves together roots, folk, and jazz influences, her music balances lyrical depth with melodic warmth. She has performed widely across the Southeast and brings both originality and reverence for tradition to every stage.

For this evening, Leah will be joined by two of Atlanta’s finest: Tommy Sauter on upright bass and Patrick Arthur on guitar (who you might recognize from the Justin Chesarek trio). introduced us to Leah and we can’t wait to see her perform!

Wednesday 9/3 Zopi Kristjanson keeps it classy with All the Stars, a set of torch songs and jazz standards from the 1930s to now by legendary singers like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Julie London and Cat Power.

Thursday 9/4 Brooklyn born Jeff Brown/ returns for Brownsville, a set of jazz, soul and world music that’ll make you feel real good.

Friday 9/5, and Chris Daresta from team up for Pop Life: disco, synth pop and sophisti-pop (it’s a thing, get with it!)

Saturday 9/6 takes us on a trip with A Love International. This guy travels everywhere collecting records and his set reflects that.
