February 25, 2005, feels like a lifetime ago, yet it seems like just yesterday that I embarked on the journey of Indigo Events.
Twenty years ago, event planning wasn’t recognized as a formal degree or even a continuing education curriculum—let alone 47 years ago when I organized my first event as part of a school “negotiation” when I was only 15 years old. With a passion for creativity—and, yes, sometimes a bit of craziness beyond the usual "thinking outside the box"—I quickly realized that events came naturally to me. Across all my ventures, I have always used events as a marketing strategy, which ultimately led to a lifetime of experiences and a way of life.
Life itself is marked by milestones, each celebrated with an event. As I reflect on these past 20 years, my heart is filled with appreciation, gratitude, and a deep sense of accomplishment. Looking back on this thrilling roller coaster ride, I feel incredibly blessed to have brought joy to those who entrusted me with their most important moments—whether it was a corporate event that meant everything to a CEO or a wedding where parents walked their children down the aisle, their emotions running high.
I could never have done this alone. To all the vendors who have helped bring my visions to life over the years, to my dedicated staff who somehow “read my mind” behind the scenes, and to my interns who have welcomed me into their lives and shared my passion for this industry—thank you.
I feel privileged that my clients have become friends, and my friends have become clients.
I have also experienced the "event blues" after every event ends, missing the daily interactions, only to dive into the next project with a passion for new ideas and excitement. For me, every event is a story—a journey told page by page.
Professionally, I feel an even greater calling—to give back, to share my knowledge, and to teach others how to create the magic of unforgettable experiences.
And today, I am proud of myself. I can confidently say: I HAVE MASTERED THE ART OF EVENT PLANNING.
