The Austintown Bounce journey is coming to an end at our indoor facility only. Our outdoor rentals will continue to operate.
It all began in early 2005, when Harold and Bruce sat down for a friendly poker game with some close friends. Amid the laughs and card shuffling, a simple idea surfaced — what if we started a local business renting inflatable bounce houses?
That casual conversation turned into action. By July 4th, 2007, they had purchased a trailer and three inflatables, officially launching Austintown Bounce. The response from the community was immediate and enthusiastic.
In September 2009, they took the next big leap — opening an indoor play facility on Kirk Road, which became a beloved destination for local families. The facility thrived for 14 years, until the COVID-19 pandemic forced them — like so many others — to close their doors.
But instead of folding, Bruce and Harold saw opportunity. During the downtime, they negotiated a phenomenal lease in Austintown Plaza, allowing them to open a brand-new, 17,000-square-foot indoor play center. It quickly became a hit — bigger, better, and more exciting than ever.
Over the past six months, the plaza’s owners made several offers — not to buy the business or its assets, but to reclaim the space itself.
A few days ago, Bruce and Harold accepted a generous offer.
From a poker table to a community staple, Austintown Bounce was built on friendship, risk-taking, and a whole lot of fun.
Stay tuned — their story might be taking a new turn, but the legacy they've built continues to bounce on.
Austintown Bounce will continue operating as one of the most reliable outdoor inflatable rental companies in the Mahoning Valley.
Thank you for being part of our family and for allowing us to be a part of yours.
Sincerely,
Bruce Shepas & Harold Porter
