We're thrilled to present the flute/harp duo Chaski this coming Sunday, October 5 for our One World, One Music recital series! Who makes up Chaski? Two women musicians who both have many accolades under their belt and a zest for life!

is a composer, flutist (concert/alto/bass flutes, piccolo, quena, sikus, flauto traverso, whistles, fifes, cuatro, and more). Away from the concert stage, she is also an environmentalist and a birder.

Shana Norton, on the other hand, plays the clàrsach, harp, and accordion. She also plays honky-tonk music in a Western Swing band.

We had a big Continuo class today made up of singers from Coda, and . What a brain-stimulating session we had, devoted solely to reinforcing what we’ve learned about rhythm and time signatures, and tacking on new concepts like simple, complex, and compound meters. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Latin American repertoire with flute/harp duo Chaski this October 5th at 3:00PM, our first One World, One Music concert of the season.

With its eclectic, genre-bending virtuosity, Chaski reinvents the sound of a classical flute/harp duo. Adrienne Inglis (flutes) and Shana Norton (harps) performed their first concert together in April 1985, in Kerrville, Texas. Since then, they have performed across miles and miles of Texas, from sea to shining sea, and occasionally in places that require a passport.
