🐶 Austin ‘s Ultimate Small Dog Reviewer Drops the Tea!📍ATX
Hey Austin fam! I’m the founder of ATX Small Dogs the community I created because some spots here are still grumpy with pups (they need to adapt OR train their staff!). With my little Maltipoo by my side, I’ve had the BEST experiences at pet events all over this super dog-friendly city. Austin is PACKED with pet-loving vibes, but not everywhere gets it right.

Here’s my no-filter review of my 4 FAVORITES and 4 NO-FAVORITES for bars, restaurants & breweries tested with my tiny dog in tow!

❤️ My top 4 FAVORITES🐾

1. Pins Mechanical Co.⭐ THE BEST BAR EVER puppies allowed INSIDE (life-saver in our hot summers)! Best staff & manager in town. Pure joy.
2. San Ginés Austin🍴 Obsessed with the food,the vibe, AND the staff who actually smile at my Maltipoo. Total date-night win!
3. Chuy’s Arbor Trails 🌳 Amazing staff + the perfect post-meal walk spot with your pup. Feels like home. Love the trail 🐕‍🦺
4. Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.🍺 My favorite brewery! Puppies welcome inside, beer is cold & refreshing… bartenders, just smile a little more and it’s 10/10! 😊

❌ 4 NO-FAVORITES (sorry, had to say it)

1. El Alma Restaurant ❌ Hostess straight-up told me “no dogs inside or outside.” Never went back. 🚫
2. Lazarus Brewing Co. (Airport Blvd)❌ Rainstorm day: manager refused to let me order beer while holding my Maltipoo and told me to “go outside.” Emailed a complaint… manager still there. 😤
3. The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen❌ Tons of events, food is good, but some staff are NOT pet-friendly when it’s raining or hot. Come on, ATX!
4. The Front Page ❌ Saturday June 6 (scorching hot): waiter snapped that my little Maltipoo couldn’t sit on the chair because “it’s bad.” I left immediately. No thanks!

Austin, we’re better than this! Let’s celebrate the spots that GET IT and gently nudge the ones that don’t.

🐾🎂 Hi Friends! It’s me, Brownie! 🖤🤎🐶

I had the most pawsome birthday celebration ever at 📍PINS MECHANICAL -AUSTIN-TX🎉🎈

A huge thank you to my amazing mom , Pack Leader of ATX SMALL DOGS 🐾🎳✨

This year I had the honor of sharing my special day with one of our VIP members, my friend Jameson the Westie 🤍🐶
🐾 Why does ATX SMALL DOGS exist?
Because our dogs are so much more than pets.
For some of our members, moving to Austin meant starting over. Their little dog became their first friend, family member, roommate, therapist, and adventure buddy all rolled into one. 🏙️🐶❤️
For others, retirement brought a little extra quiet to life, and a tiny dog brought back laughter, purpose, routines, and daily joy. ☕🐾
Some of our members are empty nesters whose children have grown up and moved away. Their pups now fill the house with love, entertainment, and the occasional zoomies at 2 AM. 😂🐕
And honestly? If you’ve ever pushed a stroller with a dog inside, celebrated a gotcha day, or referred to yourself as “Mom” or “Dad,” you understand. 🐶👶🍼❤️
Some have rescue dogs who rescued them right back. ❤️🐾
And some simply believe life is better with a small dog by your side.
That’s what makes ATX SMALL DOGS so special.
We’re a community of dog moms, dog dads, couples, friends, retirees, newcomers, empty nesters, and dog lovers who understand that these little paws leave giant prints on our hearts. 🐾❤️
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with me! We made new friends, shared lots of sniffs, collected plenty of treats, and created beautiful memories together.
And a special thank you to Pins Austin for being one of the BEST pet-friendly locations in Austin! 🎳🐾 🏆
Their indoor space allowed all of us to stay comfortable while our humans enjoyed food, drinks, games, bowling, and great company.

Something magical happened in my backyard here in Austin ✨🦅🐾

As the ATX SMALL DOG pack leader, called on the Hawk Spirit while standing on sacred Texas land… and within moments, a massive Red-shouldered Hawk appeared right in front of us.

My tiny Maltipoo and I froze in complete shock 😳🐶
The energy was powerful, ancient, wild, and impossible to ignore. For a second, time stood still in our backyard.

The hawk didn’t feel random.
It felt like a reminder:
✨ protect your peace
✨ trust your instincts
✨ lead your pack with courage
✨ see life from a higher perspective

Nature always speaks… especially in Texas. 🤎🌿

From small dogs to big spiritual moments — this is what community, connection, and sacred energy feel like in ATX.

I’m your community leader of ATX Small Dogs 🐶🐾
Traveling with my little Brownie and my family has truly been one of the best experiences of my life 🐕✈️ From new places to new smells, every moment feels like a little adventure we get to share together 🐾💛
Life has a funny way of testing you… and somehow, in the middle of it all, I went from having an only child mom to becoming a proud dog mom 🐕‍🦺👩🏽‍💻It’s been a year and a half of growth, love, and building something so special here in Austin with all of you amazing small dog parents 🐕🐾
This community didn’t just happen it took heart, consistency, and a whole lot of puppy love 🐶💫 And we’re just getting started…

I can’t wait for our next chapter together 🐾 Stay tuned… the best is yet to come 🐕✨

🌧️🐶 Weather Update for Poochela - Saturday, March 7
Hi ATX Small Dogs family!
We’re keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for Saturday’s Poochela event with the City of Austin. Current forecasts are showing a very high chance of rain and possible thunderstorms (around a 90% chance) throughout the day. 🌧️⚡

Because this is an outdoor event there is a strong possibility the event may be canceled if the forecast remains the same.

We’ll continue monitoring the weather and will share an official update as soon as we receive confirmation from the City of Austin. Thank you for your understanding and give your pups an extra cuddle while we wait for sunnier skies! 🐾 I’ll keep you posted!
