That’s Amore Films: It’s a clear nod to my Italian-American heritage but what do my Italian roots have to do with wedding films? Well… pretty much everything.
About ten years ago, I traveled to Italy for the first time. When I returned to Texas, everything changed. I immediately renamed my business from Barnhouse Weddings (terrible, I know) to That’s Amore Films and even bought a little red Fiat. But more than the name or the car, something deeper shifted. My work transformed. From basic, boring, and traditional wedding videos to films that feel poetic, vintage, and refined. Italy is known for its artistry and ingenuity, and that spirit pushed me to move beyond the predictable and create wedding films that are distinctive yet deeply authentic.
John Steinbeck famously described Positano by calling it a “dream place that isn’t quite real while you’re there, but becomes beckoningly real once you’ve left” To me that’s not just Positano but Italy as a whole. Italy is the most romantic place on the planet…and it shows. In its food, its art, its architecture, and above all, its way of life.
In many ways, the Italian lifestyle mirrors everything I strive for in wedding filmmaking.
The beauty found in every little detail, the preservation of romance, and the deep appreciation for connection. Just like a long Italian dinner shared with family, every film I create is meant to be savored. Rich with emotion, crafted with passion & sophistication, and overflowing with life.
That’s Italy.
That’s wedding filmmaking.
That’s amore
