Beyond grateful that brought their incredible music festival downtown for the first time ever.

In honor of and their epic three-night shows at last night through Saturday night, I present this behind the scenes snap from the April 2020 cover of I photographed at .

was a dream to work with and his drum tech made the entire shoot day flawless. They both had me laughing and was even told I could sit behind his kit! (I did not!)

I really hope print never dies, because memories such as this one only happen when we support our favorite books and magazines by subscribing and visiting our (hopefully local) bookstores.

So thank you Ashwin and Glenn for being some of my favorite clients ever and enjoy your stay in town!

Some of the fav faces of Austin’s I photographed on our 2024 Juneteenth ride!

I’ve known for several years now, and have seen his BHBR continue to grow and evolve into an incredibly powerful way to share information about the history of African-Americans in the Austin area.

Talib along with my good friends and made a beautifully informative documentary about Juneteenth and the emancipation of Texas’ slave population, riding their bikes all the way to Galveston to where the decree was signed which allowed slaves in Texas to be freed in 1865. This Operation of the Emancipation Proclamation occurred a full two years after the rest of slaves in the United States were emancipated.

I encourage you to reach out to Talib to request a screening of “The Road to Emancipation” in your town or city and support the BHBR in any way you can; the team is currently taking donations to make an even longer, more thorough documentary in the upcoming future.

Big respect to the folx doing the work to ensure we learn from our past so we aren’t doomed to repeat it.

Thank you to everyone that made this wonderful event possible, including and not limited to: The Driveway Series, Leadout Foundation, Spectra Racing, Trek Austin, Specialized Austin, Shimano, Wahoo, Violet Crown Cycling and all the amazing women that faced the unknown!

Everyone should look back with pride at your first time of racing a bike and show off your photos proudly! I did my first Driveway race in 2010 and wish I still had those silly photos of me from back then.
