Astronox Family. This was one of the best weeks we’ve ever had. We laughed. We cried. We danced our butt off. Thank you all for being a part of it, from the hundreds who worked incredibly hard to make Astronox possible, to the thousand who attended to be a part of this truly wonderful, beautifully unique, and profoundly rare community. Seeing everyone enjoy a project you’ve worked on for thousands of hours with a deeply talented team is simply incomparable.
Every now and then, there is a special experience we stumble upon, a breakaway from the everyday which pulls us into a reality we will remember and share for the rest of our lives. To me, Astronox is one of those experiences. There are a lot of ways we can spend the little time we have in this world, and this gathering feels like one of the absolute best choices.
We have gone to a lot of festivals, but we haven’t felt this kind of magic in a very long time. People everywhere found ways to express themselves because they felt safe and passionate to do so. Families with their kids were dancing to Detox Unit at midnight. A team of skilled technicians connected modular video gear and several computers to run visuals on the stage in literally the most complex fashion I’ve ever seen simply because they wanted to have fun. Performers dresssed like dragons and fairies, stilt walked across the earth, and shot fire into the sky for hours and hours and hours. Musicians played secret sets at the art gallery because they were having such a good time and wanted to stay longer. I could go on and on and on.
What we have here is very, very special. Thank you for helping us support it and hold it close. There are few places like this right now, and some of the best people we’ve ever met help make this possible. This is a place that inspires people to be the best versions of themselves. To many, it is healing. Thank you for coming. Thank you for being you. Thank you so much. We can not wait to see you next year, Astronox Family!
