Join us today at 4:00 PM for a FREE performance by the Austin ISD Summer Theatre Series Rising Stars Camp in the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center Main Hall!

Over the past week, more than 30 talented Austin ISD students representing 20 campuses have been exploring the world of theatre through acting, singing, movement, creativity, and collaboration. Working together, these students have even written their own original script, which they will bring to life on stage today for family, friends, and the community.

Rising Stars is the introductory camp of the Austin ISD Summer Theatre Series, a program that has grown into one of the largest student theatre opportunities in Central Texas. This summer, more than 300 students from 46 Austin ISD campuses are participating in our programs, including Rising Stars, our Black Box production of The Witch's Princess, and our mainstage production of Disney's Frozen: The Musical.

Come celebrate the incredible talent, hard work, creativity, and storytelling of these young artists. Admission is free, and all are welcome!

Two days of leadership, collaboration, creativity, and connection! Our social officers spent time learning from one another, planning for the year ahead, building relationships, and developing the skills needed to lead their teams and campuses.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this camp a success. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things these student leaders accomplish this year!

We were thrilled to host two full days of the 1A–6A State University Interscholastic League Film competition! 🎬

It was an incredible opportunity to welcome some of the most talented student filmmakers from across Texas as they showcased their creativity, storytelling, and technical skill at the highest level of competition. We are thrilled to announce the remainder of our Summer Theatre Series season, featuring Rising Stars, our Black Box production of The Witch’s Princess by Don Zoladis, and our full-scale summer musical, Disney’s Frozen!

This exciting lineup offers something for everyone—from large-cast musical theatre to an intimate Black Box experience, plus opportunities for our Rising Stars performers to grow and shine on stage. Frozen will bring the magic of Arendelle to life with unforgettable music, dynamic characters, and plenty of opportunities for students to be involved both onstage and behind the scenes.

Auditions are now open from February 1 through March 14, and we encourage all interested students to apply. Our Summer Theatre Series is designed to challenge, inspire, and showcase the incredible talent of young artists from across the district.
