It was a hot, windy day in Sleepy Eye this past Saturday but I survived my first ever solo competition. Tried my hand at chicken legs for the first time and was happy with how they turned out along with the ribs! Wasn't my day with the judges as the results came in with chicken in 14th, ribs in 16th and 14th overall out of 20. Congrats to the teams who got calls, definitely deserved them! I will say I certainly missed my teammates, but mostly because I hadn't done a kale box in almost 5 years and it was not smooth for me but I made it work! We're taking a couple weekends off but will be back for Ribs N Rides in Mankato in July

Better late than never! Bringin Home the Bacon day 2 landed on Fathers day and Asher decided he would take over and run the show to give dad the day off. He didn't get the results he had hoped for but had a blast helping out! Marty Party BBQ ended up 16th in chicken, 17th in ribs and 14th overall out of 31 teams. The field was super competitive and we were happy with turn ins so can't complain! We'll be back at it again this weekend in Sleepy Eye, MN

Marty Party BBQ had a successful day 1 of Bringin Home the Bacon. We ended up in 12th for chicken, 4th in ribs and 6th overall out of 42 teams! This was one of our favorite ribs turn ins that we've had and the judges agreed! Turn ins for day 2 just completed so we'll see how we did in just a little while. Congrats to all the teams with calls yesterday and good luck today!

It's a little bit chilly for day 2 of Bringing Home the Bacon, gotta keep the coffee warm on the smoker! Ribs and chicken are on, hopefully the rubs can bring us some luck today! Good luck to everyone cooking here in West Salem!

What a great weekend for Marty Party BBQ! We competed at the first ever Grillin N Chillin event in our hometown of Austin. We had a blast serving up our BBQ ribs and chocolate chip cookies to raise money for the Mower County Humane Society. We took home 2nd place out of 14 teams AND were awarded our first ever People's Choice award! Congrats to Steve's Hog Whole BBQ on the win! Definitely looking forward to this even again next year!

Marty Party BBQ competed at Smokin in Steele in Owatonna this weekend and Asher helped us claim our first call of the year! We ended up in 3rd for ribs, 8th in chicken and 4th overall missing the GC by 1 point! Congrats to Sassy Smoke on the GC and Big Ten Bones on the RGC.

Also, I have to send a thanks to for lending us an injector, definitely saved the day for us! We also had a fun time with the mystery category which was pineapple this year. We wrapped it in cinnamon toast crunch bacon and topped it with our sweet BBQ sauce and glaze. Definitely a flavor explosion! Next up is the 1st annual Grillin N Chillin in Austin, MN
