Before the color palettes are chosen or floor plans laid out, we’re listening for the undercurrent:

Will the energy hum or glow?
Does it feel like a slow burn?
Or is it meant to make guests come alive?

The anatomy of a well-balanced tablescape is knowing when it’s enough.

Full, but not too full.

It starts with a little bit of personality. The flatware, the vessels, the napkin, something that keeps it from feeling standard.

Then it’s the balance. Not a lot of white space, but the right amount of negative space. Enough room for everything to feel intentional without competing.

Florals bring the texture. Unique blooms, interesting foliage, nothing that feels overused.

At the end of the day, it should feel warm and inviting. Like every piece is there for a reason.

Working through our rebrand we kept asking the deep questions like “what is it that we actually value?”

The one that we kept coming back to that feels like the heart of Hawthorne? Relationships. The kind you invest in deeply. Always our couples, but also the creatives and collaborators who’ve shaped us.
collective.wed exists because of that belief. Our time in Mexico this year really solidified existing relationships and started so many new relationships and partnerships. We were able to connect with creatives who think like us, believe in what we believe in, feel as deeply as we do, and want to create things that feel different.

For Emily & Brandon we wanted to blend the ranch setting with an elevated, Marfa-inspired feel, without losing what makes it a ranch in the first place.

So we kept the design minimal. Neutral tones, layered textures, pared-back stationery. Rentals and florals that still felt right at home, with a little more intention behind them.

Dinner was a priority from day one, and took it to the next level. Every menu item was grilled over an open fire table while the guests looked on and enjoyed the sinking sunlight.

And to make it better? The cutest highland cows and mini ponies right outside the gate.

For Emily & Brandon’s wedding day we leaned into Marfa’s art driven aesthetic... but the florals were always going to be the main character.

We knew we could trust , so we gave full creative freedom and said “punchy and bright” was the direction.

To keep the focus where it belonged, everything else went espresso. Classic, rich, and still understated.

Then we layered in chrome and mirrored tiles. A little Marfa edge, just enough bite.
