𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗪𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧
After a lifetime writing fiction, 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗯𝗲𝘇𝗮𝗵𝗹 turned to playwriting about a decade ago. Since then, his theatrical works have been performed live and virtually in 21 states, and internationally in the UK, Australia, and Ukraine, and have been published in a number of anthologies, including 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵 10-𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘴 2023. He lives in California.

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗪𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧
𝗝𝘆𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗻𝘁 is a Sydney-based Australian playwright, author, educator, and advocate for social justice. His writing combines humor, heart, and insight to explore contemporary issues while entertaining audiences. His work has been produced internationally, earning recognition for its engaging characters and thoughtful storytelling. He is also the author of 𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 & 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 – 𝘈 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 and has spent much of his career working with and supporting young people through education and community programs.

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗪𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 is a graphic designer, illustrator, and scenic painter in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to her seventieth birthday she had never written anything more creative than a grocery list, but in the last few years she has cranked out a dozen or so (mostly) short, (mostly) comic plays that have been produced all over the country. She is enjoying herself immensely.

𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘀’ plays have been produced Off-Broadway in NYC, and at theaters in London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Seattle and Denver. In 2018 his play 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘥 won three awards: First place in Theatre Odyssey’s One-Act Play Festival in Sarasota, Best Lab Works Production at the Pittsburgh New Works Festival, and the British Theatre Challenge in London. In 2022 his play 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 was the full-length winner of the Tampa Theatre Festival.

We have selected the plays for our next One Night Stand Theater production, “𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲…” Thank you to the many playwrights and writers who sent in their plays, short stories and poems for our June 14th celebration of friends and friendship. The seven short plays chosen feature both good friends and bad friends:

—Ellen’s imaginary friend returns one last time in “𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” by Marjorie Williamson.

—Beatrice and her friend sabotage her daughter’s wedding in “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀” by Jye Bryant.
