Something from Something
curated by Harvee White
June 5 - August 8
Through an intersectional and contemporary lens, Lewis Foster, N. Masani Landfair, and Jas Jermaine Turk, explore cultural heritage and identity through the analog act of cutting and pasting. Though each artist has their own approach and reasons for choosing collage as their platform, the gravitation toward exploration of identity through found materials is foundational.
Curated by Harvee White, Something from Something not only serves as an exploration of intersectional Black identity in collage, but also attempts to answer why collage has positioned itself as a frontrunner medium for this exploration in general.

While It Lasts
Works by Edna Martinez
June 5 - July 2
Known as a tool for creating temporary art, the Etch A Sketch is reimagined by artist Edna Martinez as a medium for fine art and political resistance. Through preserved portraits, still lifes, and symbols of marginalized identities and rights under threat, this exhibit transforms nostalgia into a unique act of protest and art appreciation.
