As we move forward with rehearsals for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, opening this October, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank our amazing production team. They spent countless hours preparing for auditions, sitting through nearly 100 auditions, and dedicating more than five hours to callbacks. The amount of time, thought, and care they put into every casting decision was truly incredible, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment to this production.
I also want to thank every single person who auditioned. Seeing so many talented people come through our doors was inspiring, and it speaks volumes about the strength of our local theater community. Because the talent was so exceptional, making casting decisions was one of the hardest things we’ve had to do. Unfortunately, there simply weren’t enough roles for everyone who deserved one.
If you weren’t cast this time, please don’t let that discourage you. Not receiving a role is never a reflection of your worth or your talent. Sometimes it’s simply about finding the right fit for this particular production. I sincerely hope you’ll continue to audition—whether it’s with the Auburn Community Players or another theater. Every audition is another opportunity to grow, gain experience, and share your passion for performing.
Thank you for believing in community theater and for trusting us with your time and talent. We appreciate each and every one of you, and I truly hope to see many familiar faces at future auditions. Your next opportunity may be just around the corner.
With gratitude,
Jim Kleinbeck
