Meet our Owner/Founder: Nima Jalloh.

Born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone, our owner/founder, Nima Jalloh, established her love for cooking at a very tender age. For Nima, cooking was not only about the food, it was about the joy and happiness that her cooking brought to others. As a young girl, Nima would save her allowance money to buy ingredients to cook for people. Her father noticed her passion for cooking, so he encouraged

her to keep going. From buying recipe books to encouraging her to explore and experiment with flavors in the kitchen, Nima’s father identified her wonderful culinary skills from early on. Fast forward to today, Nima continues to take great satisfaction and pride in seeing people enjoy her spectacular Afro-Western dishes. So, she decided to follow her dreams of becoming a chef. Thus, Ka’Thorma was born. Inspired by the rich, powerful culinary flavors of West Africa and the heritage of our owner and head chef, Ka’Thorma is a luxury full-service catering company that specializes in Sierra Leonean and Afro-Western cuisine. Ka’Thorma, which means “Let’s eat” in the Limba language of Sierra Leone, provides catering services for both corporate and private entities and events. Using only the finest and freshest ingredients, our dishes are prepared to the highest quality and standard for our customer’s gastronomic delight and satisfaction. We pay attention to every tasty little detail to ensure we bring our customers the most sophisticated, authentic flavors of West Africa. At Ka’Thorma, catering for special occasions is also our specialty, from birthdays and weddings, to elegant corporate events and private dinners; we offer bespoke services with customized meals and menus designed to satisfy our client’s specifications.
