Every once in a while, someone will say something like, "Wow, you're a busy lady."
And every time, I think the same thing:
There is absolutely no way I could do any of this alone.
Grass Roots has grown into so much more than a garden center. Flowers. Food. Pumpkins. Events. Workshops. Community projects. Big dreams. Bigger ideas. And somehow, through all the chaos, this incredible team keeps showing up and making it happen.
💚 Mighty Mica — Every dreamer needs a doer, and she is mine. This spring marks FIVE years with Grass Roots. She does everything. Greenhouse. Floral. Customers. Projects. Problem-solving. She even manages Jo. (Arguably her hardest job.)
💚 Calm & Collected Clair — The driving force behind all things kitchen-related. She can run the greenhouse and tackle Patch projects with the best of them, but this summer she's busy cooking up amazing things for the Institute and keeping us all fed, organized, and moving forward.
💚 Sweet Sadie — Her superpower is speaking "Jo" fluently. Every half-finished idea, scribbled note, and wild vision somehow becomes something beautiful in her hands. She's our behind-the-scenes magician this summer, and we're excited to watch her fly into her next adventure as Mrs. Presley later this year.
💚 Joyful Josie — Creative to her core. Whether she's helping customers, designing arrangements, or bringing fresh ideas to the table, she does it with enthusiasm and heart. She's expanding her repertoire in floral design and has some of the best customer service this side of the Mississippi.
💚 Jackpot Jack — The one. The only. The famous and fabulous. Jack is positivity in human form. Helpful, kind, hardworking, and hands-down a customer favorite. If you've stopped by Grass Roots, chances are Jack has brightened your day, carried your purchase, answered a question, or made you laugh.
💚 Just-Get-It-Done Jacob — The quiet man behind the scenes. No fuss, no fanfare, just steady hard work. He keeps the Patch looking its best, sings a little Bocephus while he works, and tackles whatever needs done without complaint. Every team needs someone you can count on, and Jacob is exactly that guy.
💚 Just Jo — Dreamer. Chaos Director. Professional idea generator. Hot Mess Express. Forever grateful.
Together, we're Grass Roots.
A goofy group with big dreams, flowers, food, a love of rural living, and a few pumpkins thrown in for good measure.
To my Dream Team: thank you for believing in the vision, showing up on the hard days, rolling with the crazy ideas, solving problems before I even know they exist, and helping build something bigger than any one of us could do alone.
You are the reason our customers feel welcome, our businesses keep growing, and our community continues to support what we're building.
