I was walking to my car last night after being on my feet working for a solid 12 hours and I said to myself, βMan, what a dayβ¦but what a good one!β This is my general feeling after every wedding day.
After running from one room to the next to capture everyone, crouching in weird positions to ensure you have the best angles (that used to be more comfortable when I was younger π), finding the best spots for your photos, running up and down stairs 100 times because itβs faster than the elevator, bustling your dress, running to make sure you have a snack and a drink as much as possible, partying with you at your reception (Iβm a horrible dancer but for sure will dance to almost every song) etcβ¦all while carrying heavy equipment on my body the whole timeβ¦
I feel like Iβve been hit by a truck and Iβm exhausted, everything hurts and I canβt wait to shower and hibernate for 12 hours, but I am smiling and I would 100% get up and do it all again the next day!
Itβs so easy to take for granted the things we consider normalβ¦
like having a home to live in (an estimated 150 million people in the world do not have this)β¦
a family to love (even when they drive you crazy sometimes)β¦
a job (especially if you have one you love like I do!!)β¦
a full fridge of food (more than 820 million people in the world go hungry. That number is insane!)β¦
arms and legs (even when theyβre worn out from use all day)β¦
If youβve ever complained about being busy, remember that 223 million people donβt have jobs to be busy with.
The next time your kid screams and you want to pull your hair out, remember that 48 million couples wonβt ever be able to have a baby at all.
If you have power, running water, foodβ¦if you are looking at Instagram right now on your smart phoneβ¦YOU ARE RICHLY BLESSED, my friend.
May we never take for granted the lives we live.
May we always be kind to others and use our blessings to build a longer table, not a taller fence.
May we always remain humble and be thankful, grateful, and blessed.
Happy Sunday, friends. You are so loved, and the world is a better place with you in it.
