Lea Ann Hurd is a local entrepreneur, life style expert and owner of Southern Flair Events which specializes in freelance design/planning and styling for personal and corporate events. After marring into a family of gourmet cooks and seasoned entertainers, she realized the love that can be shared through hospitality. When she and her husband relocated to South Atlanta in the late 1990’s, away from her friends and family, she turned to entertaining as a way to meet people. After a few dinner parties, she built a reputation for making her guests feel welcome and experienced something heartfelt. Many of her friends encouraged her to pursue this as a business. Out of this passion for hospitality and years spent working in the industry she was able to build relationships with multiple vendors and venues on the Southside. Her work at Serenbe was noticed by Southern Living in 2013 which led to a feature in 2014 Southern Living at Home as well an online feature in the fall of 2014 for SEC Tailgating Promotion. Lea Ann’s Aunt had also been featured in a 1970’s cover story, thus even more reason to be honored to follow in the footsteps of an influential hostess. Her work has also been featured in Celebrations Magazine, Style Me Pretty, Weddings Unveiled, Green Wedding Shoes, Rustic Wedding Chic, Ruffled and Fab U Bliss as well as international sites such as Brides.
