Birthing the Brand
Its so funny, but for a long time I have always wanted to be a Entrepreneur. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. So I think I went home (Memphis, TN), for the Christmas holiday and I was talking to my aunt about starting a Floral designing business. She looked at me crazy and said, “You are allergy to flowers, I think you need to rethink that.” I told her, “I love this.” Then, I said to her, “What should I name the business?” So for hours we tossed names out, and nothing stood out. I wanted it to resonate with who I was becoming as a person. So then my aunt said, “Two Sisters.” Um (I wish I could put the side eye emoji here) No. “Well, name it the Johnson Sisters.” Once again, I give her this side eye. Then it hit me, you know that feeling that lets you know you got a hit. Warren + Forrest. She said “WHAT?” Warren + Forrest. I wanted this business to give honor to the two most important women in my life. My mother Samella Johnson Levy-Cohran, and my aunt Mary Johnson. So when I thought about them I thought about home and being safe. So I took both their house street names and put them together. Warren (my aunt) and Forrest (my mom). This was it, I had the name, but I still didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t know where to start. It took me another full year before, I would have plan to move forward. So here we are today February 2018, and Warren + Forrest is building lasting relationships through Faith, Fellowship, and Flowers. Warren + Forrest specializes in Floral Pop-up Shop, Interior Landscapes, & Weddings. Relationships is the foundation of the business. Bringing this Brand to life as been a journey, but it has been so rewarding and challenging all at the same time. But that with anything in life. I am so exciting to watch this brand grow and flourish. Thank you for following.
