Sometimes you gotta pop out and show ’em…or whatever Kendrick said 😜

When states “Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life,” she means it.

We kicked off the 2026 quarterly journey of intentionally curated events in Jacksonville with a group ready to design their next personal and business development goals.

With ocean sounds at their footsteps, and a comfortable environment to dream, the deep work happened.

Intimate events of 50 or less hit different.

Hosts get more direct touchpoints with their clients for the deep work.

Attendees work in small groups with meaningful conversations that actually move the implementation needle and not just hearing from a talking head in a sea of a thousand.

We love the model of quarterly intimate events paired with an annual (or bi-annual) flagship conference to broaden brand impact across targeted regions.

2 down, 6 more meaningful impact events to go.

✨ILLUMINATING FUTURES ✨

We had the honor of designing the 21st annual Starfish Ball for at the stunning - a night celebrating scholars, hope, and the transformative power of education.

In a short turn, we embraced a jeweled tone color palette, centering on monochromatic emerald green, playful pops of plum, and metallic golds to introduce a fresh design in a familiar space while fully embodying the theme through intentional design.

From a glowing mix of vintage and modern lamp installations to hundreds of flickering candles, and one of the many highlights of the night, our custom illuminated shadow boxes highlighting sponsors and signature entrance photo moment encapsulated in LED — every element was crafted to symbolize the bright paths ahead for nsoro’s incredible scholars.

Ease, wherefore art thou!

As I wrote out the must to-dos for the week, the anxiousness intensified with each color change of the dry erase marker.

Assigning a guiding verse helped bring clarity in the “to dos” with purpose, focus, ease (my word for the year turned a lifestyle).

Now, why are the Personal To-Dos still at the bottom of the list, and only 1/6 complete?? I need to have a talk with that lady about it.

Cheers to acknowledging, recentering, and getting it done!

🤯 -11.8% Margin. Why leaning into your numbers is important.

It’s February 1st, and we’re looking at our first month-end report of the year.

What it reconfirmed? One of our lowest-booked services is also severely underpriced. 📉

When you see the data, no lie, it stings. It’s frustrating.

And It’s empowering. It’s reaffirming.

We planned to sunset certain services, and now I can confidently say we’re no longer promoting that service.

And in the extremely rare occurrence that we do, it will be priced accordingly!

Numbers don’t lie. They just wait for you to listen.

I miss having these 1:1 conversations with new and budding service providers in our industry.

This is exactly the kind of work we dig into together: pricing, margins, service structures, and building a business that actually sustains you.

Should I open my coaching calendar this month? Send me a DM if you’re interested, or tag someone who needs a kickstart in 2026.

And yes, our 2026 pricing is in full effect! Happy Black History Month!

The Weather Decision: The hardest call to make.

This week, the entire country has been on ice/snow/rain watch.

We’re trusting the science, the regional models, the European models, and my personal favorite: the “Grandma’s knee stiffens” model.

Over the past two weekends, weather has affected three of our events.

Last weekend in Florida: Record winds and rain forced outdoor activations inside. Room flips, attendee communication, and hustle. Minor adjustments, but no one had to fight wind in the middle of vinyasa flow.

This week in Georgia: The ice storm affected two events. For those of us in Atlanta in 2014, the PTSD is real .

Event 1: Cancelled flights → pivoted to hybrid.

Event 2: Full postponement → thousands in losses.

The weight of weather calls is heavier than most imagine.

Beyond financial loss, we’re considering stranded guests, staff unable to reach venues, dangerous roads, and worst case, loss of life.

Here’s the point:
Event strategists are equipped to make real-time decisions that affect safety, budgets, and success. This is why you need experienced decision-makers in the room, not just people waiting for instructions.

When weather (or any crisis) hits, you need strategists who can pivot fast and protect your investment.

Be kind to your event teams. Even meteorologists have to shift with the models. So do we.

What’s the toughest weather call you’ve had to make?
