The Dragonfly Speakeasy 🤫

A one-night-only whiskey experience created for a very special 50th birthday celebration.

For this birthday surprise we created a hidden bar space, complete with a custom whiskey experience built specifically for the guest of honor.

Guests slipped away from the party in small groups, discovering four American whiskeys, swapping stories, and enjoyjng a few surprises along the way.

A little whiskey. Lots of good company. And a night worth remembering.

This is what I love about Dad’s Whiskey Stash. Taking an idea and turning it into something people will remember.

Have an idea for your next gathering? Let’s talk.

Some nights are about the whiskey.

Some are about the people around the table.

Sam’s birthday celebration was definitely both. Great bourbon, a few surprises, plenty of stories, and a group of friends who made it pretty clear how much he means to them.
Grateful to have been part of it.

Cheers to 60, Sam! 🥃🎉

Some nights are about the bottles.

Some nights are about the people around them.

We didn’t leave the auction with any wins, but we still walked away with great whiskey, great conversations, and a chance to support a great cause.

Grateful to have been part of another fantastic evening thanks to our friends My Friend's Bottle Shop and Oakland Cemetery . 🥃

This weekend I had the chance to be part of Tee Time with Dad, a Father’s Day golf event that brought a group of guys together for golf, conversation, and a few whiskey samples.

We also debuted a new kind of experience with the Whiskey Passport Challenge, where guests got to try mystery pours and see if they could identify the country of origin. It was a fun way to add something interactive to the day, and exactly the kind of experience we love bringing to events.

What stood out most wasn’t just the whiskey. It was the easy conversations, the laughs, and the time people took to just hang out and enjoy the day.

I’m grateful to have been part of it and it was a the perfect reminder that the best events create space for people to connect. 🥃

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures, and anyone helping guide the next generation.

Becoming a dad has been the greatest privilege of my life. It’s taught me patience, humility, perspective, and how to appreciate the little moments that often end up meaning the most.

In a lot of ways, it’s not that different from whiskey. The best things take time. They develop character through experience. And they’re always better when shared.

This Father’s Day weekend, I’m spending my time helping other dads celebrate with family and friends through whiskey tastings, which feels especially meaningful today.

To all the dads out there: I hope you get to slow down, enjoy the people you love, and maybe pour yourself something good.

Happy Father’s Day.

One of my favorite moments during a tasting is when someone realizes they can actually connect a flavor in the glass to something that happened long before the whiskey was bottled.

Maybe it’s the grain.

Maybe it’s the climate where it aged.

Maybe it’s a secondary barrel that added another layer of character.

Most people start by identifying flavors. Over time, they start asking where those flavors came from.

That’s when whiskey gets really interesting.

It’s also why I enjoy creating tastings that go beyond what’s in the glass and explore the stories behind it.

About an hour outside Atlanta, there’s a farm doing things a little differently.

During our recent visit to Doc Brown Farm & Distillers we spent an afternoon learning more about how their whiskey comes together, from Jimmy Red corn and healthier soil to the salty and sweet effects of coastal aging.

It was such a great reminder that sometimes the most interesting (and delicious!) whiskey doesn’t come from the biggest names.

Big thanks to Amy, Paige, Daniel, and fellow Executive Bourbon Steward Tosha Mobley for the hospitality. We’ll see ya out on the farm again soon! 🥃🌽 🌾
